"You think the dead are silent? In Thornfields, they scream."

— Whispered in the trailer

Synopsis[]

In the remote village of Thornfields, a place shrouded in perpetual mist and shadow, an ancient curse weaves through the lives of its inhabitants. The Thorn estate, a grand but decaying mansion on the outskirts of the village, stands as a silent testament to a tragic past that no one dares to speak of. When young journalist Evelyn Crowe arrives to uncover the mysteries of Thornfields, she finds herself entangled in a web of dark secrets and supernatural horrors.

Evelyn's arrival coincides with the centennial anniversary of the Thorn family massacre, an event that left the estate haunted by restless spirits. As she delves deeper into the history of the Thorn family, she discovers a diary belonging to the last living heir, Jonathan Thorn. Through its pages, she learns of a forbidden love, a family betrayed, and a curse placed upon the Thorn lineage.

Strange occurrences begin to plague Evelyn: whispers in the corridors, ghostly apparitions, and the feeling of being watched. The villagers warn her to leave, recounting tales of those who ventured into the Thorn estate and never returned. Despite their warnings, Evelyn is determined to uncover the truth.

With the help of a local outcast, Gabriel, who has his own ties to the Thorn family, Evelyn pieces together the story of Jonathan and his ill-fated love, Eliza. Their tragic romance ignited a series of events that led to the curse, binding their souls and those of their descendants to the Thornfields estate.

As the spectral activity intensifies, Evelyn realizes she must break the curse to save herself and free the spirits trapped within the mansion. She uncovers a hidden crypt beneath the estate, where the final confrontation with the vengeful spirit of Jonathan Thorn takes place. In a harrowing climax, Evelyn and Gabriel perform a ritual to release the souls, confronting their own fears and pasts in the process. "Thorn in the Thornfields" is a tale of love and betrayal, of dark family secrets and the relentless grip of the past. It is a journey through the gothic heart of fear, where the living and the dead must coexist, and where secrets are kept close to the heart.
