Dejay Sean Sinclair is a bodyguard, mainly for Emiliano De La Cruz, who has been at Beverly Shores for 13 years. He is portrayed by Jordan Calloway.
Dejay was never one for mistakes, no really if there was something that Dejay prided himself on, it was on his ability in avoiding mistakes, in being the best version of himself. His life was already filled with mistakes not made by him, an absent father and a struggling mother. Growing up in a harsh environment, Dejay learned early on to navigate the rough edges of life with determination and grit. With his father's departure, Dejay's uncle stepped in to provide what stability he could, despite his own personal struggles. So even though Uncle ‘Tony was a little mean, a little too harsh , arrogant and filled with toxicity, Dejay always respected and loved his uncle. His uncle was the only one from his family who did not abandon his mother and him, so how could he hate him?
Raised on the fringes of society, Dejay was determined to rise above his circumstances and forge a better future for himself and his family. Despite the challenges he faced, Dejay remained steadfast in his pursuit of education and excellence. He poured himself into his studies, earning straight A's and dreaming of a brighter future as a pilot, soaring above the troubles of his past. However, fate had other plans for Dejay. A tragic accident befell his mother, forcing him to put his dreams on hold and shoulder the responsibility of caring for her. The financial strain of her medical expenses, coupled with the impossibility of affording the prestigious college he had dreamed of attending, dashed his hopes of pursuing his aviation dreams.Instead, Dejay found himself drawn into a different path, taking on the role of a bodyguard for an old friend, Emilio.
Despite the deviation from his childhood aspirations, Dejay approached his new role with the same unwavering dedication and work ethic that had defined him throughout his life.His personality reflected his upbringing - hardworking, loyal, and cautious. Moreover, back to Dejay rarely making mistakes-mistakes really neer happened with him, so it was a shock when he found himself with a child at the age of 18 and the mother leaving him to raise the child all by himself, but …Dejay took it in stride. The child, a girl with eyes as deep and fathomless as the night sky, became his anchor.
Thus, his lie was pretty ok as a single dad living in Beverly Shores with his best friend and daughter, but unfortunately for the lover of peace, Dejay’s life did not remain peaceful for quite a while- with a best friend going to jail, another-Emilio disappearing for years and his uncle dying right before all of this, Dejay reached rock bottom for a while, struggling with depression and trying to be there for the last ‘remaining member of his friend group’ and his daughter, but such a thing is never really easy is it?
